Attorney J. Richard Scott
Rick was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from Forest Park High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. While in the Army, Rick worked as a Patriot Missile Crewmember, and served a two year tour of duty in Germany. After his enlistment was completed, Rick began working at AT&T, while he attended the University of Cincinnati at night. Rick graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1995, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Administrative Management. In 1996, Rick enrolled in the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. Also in 1996, Rick was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by then Governor Paul E. Patton. Rick was a member of the Chase Moot Court Board, as well as the Chase Law Review. He graduated from the Chase College of Law in 1999.
Since graduating from law school and becoming licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky, Rick focused his legal practice in the areas of criminal defense and family law. He is well respected in the local community, both as a highly skilled negotiator, and as an accomplished courtroom litigator. Rick also served as an Instructor at Beckfield College, teaching various legal classes to paralegal students.
Rick resides with his wife and children in Boone County, Kentucky. He has coached intramural basketball for Goodridge Elemantary. Rick is an avid fan of football, as well as television shows such as Survivor and Amazing Race. He considers himself to be quite the amateur chef as well.
Rick tells every client that he represents, not to worry until he tells them that it is time to worry. He does that because he wants them to know that he will handle whatever comes up in the case. If Rick doesn’t tell them to worry, then he isn’t worried. He does this so that when panic sets in for the client, as it usually does during a case, the client will remember that Rick doesn’t want his clients to worry – that is the point of hiring a lawyer. Ask any former client of his, and they will tell you that this is happens at the very first client consultation.
